The value of having an intruder alarm speaks for itself. The Police say that most burglary is opportunistic in nature, committed against the weakest available target.
Most insurance companies allow discounted premiums for security precautions such as having a professionally installed alarm, which clearly illustrates the fact that experts in crime trends know that alarms do indeed reduce the risk.
Furthermore, protection is not vastly expensive, certainly not compared to the misery that can result from its absence.
OSS consider three key words to be important to their intruder alarms. They are designed, installed and maintained.
1. Designed - a system designed for your own unique requirements during a visit to your business by one of our professional alarm surveyors.
2. Installed - a system fitted by an OSS alarm engineer.
3. Maintained - a system inspected and serviced at regular intervals by OSS security, who itself is audited by an approved inspection body called S.S.A.I.B. who are U.K.A.S. accredited.
Intruder alarm applications:
- Redcare GSM monitored system - this system is linked via a communications line to a private monitoring station, where 24 hour operators can notify the local Police and keyholders in the event of an intrusion even if someone cuts the telephone line.
- Digital communicated monitored system - this is the same as above but without the facility to monitor for line cuts.
- Speech diallers - this device allows a bells only system to ring up to 5 numbers and leave a pre recorded message of your choice.
- Bells only for domestic use only - this is designed to activate a bell or, more usually these days a siren in case of intrusion, but there is no direct link to the Police.
OSS Security specialises in BT Redcare GSM. This is because it is the only monitored system that completely conforms to the new Police Policy (ACPO Policy A.C.P.O. 2006/PD 6662). The policy states that all new security systems must now be capable of generating an initial alarm activation followed by a second one confirming the first to qualify for Police response.
Not only does BT Redcare GSM monitor your phone line it then doubles the strength of that protection by also monitoring your alarm system using 02’s radio network.
This means it is able to send confirmed activations over the phone line, the radio network or both, in line with the new Police response policy requirements. But with a very big difference! Even if both of the monitoring channels where attacked or cut by an intruder or damaged accidentally, redcare gsm is still capable of sending a confirmed activation to your Alarm Receiving Centre to alert them that there’s a genuine problem.
